Ada S. McKinley provides four child care services: day care, head start, after school care, and night care. Our child care services are designed to bring about a greater degree of social competence in young children from low-income families.
The Day Care program, our newest service, began in 1998 and includes infants six weeks old and up. In order to be eligible for day care service, parents must work full-time, be enrolled in school full-time or work part-time and attend school.
The Head Start program operates out of three sites and provides comprehensive services to children 3 to 5 years of age and their families. Services are provided by a team of professionals dedicated to helping children succeed, providing developmentally appropriate activities, and addressing the individual needs of children and families. Academic instruction includes a variety of learning experiences aimed at fostering cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.
